I grew up in Eagle Bridge, New York, a small town where most people know each other and family businesses matter. I was homeschooled through elementary school before graduating from Cambridge Central School in 2016. Much of my childhood was spent working at my grandparents' businesses - Benson's Restaurant and Benson's Dairy Bar - owned by Len and Cheryl Benson. Being around the restaurant from a young age gave me an early look at what it takes to build and sustain something over time.

Sports were a constant in my life. I played football, basketball, baseball, and lacrosse, and went on to play football at Hartwick College. Competing at the college level reinforced the importance of discipline, consistency, and preparation.

The summer of 2016 was a turning point. Between cooking at the restaurant, building a side business called Squeaky Kleen Auto Detailing with Brady Sausville, and working one day a week for my cousin who later introduced me to Northwestern Mutual, I was working more than 90 hours a week. The following May, after my freshman year of college, I started my internship at Northwestern Mutual and began my career in financial services.

After graduating in 2021, Brady and I worked together at Wise Financial before launching Sausville Benson Financial in January 2022. What I am most proud of today is not just growth - it is the culture we have built. We have surrounded ourselves with people who want to win, who challenge each other directly, and who push their peers to improve.

My parents, Michael and Tiffany Benson, now own and operate the family restaurant in Eagle Bridge after purchasing it from my grandparents. I am the oldest of four siblings - my brother Carter and my sisters Sydney and Averi - and family remains central to my life.

Outside of work, I own a dirt car race team called Benson Racing, which is very much a family operation. My dad races and works on the car; my grandfather and my brother help in the garage, and my cousins Nate Woodworth and Tim Ogilvie are on the pit crew. Tim's wife, Jennifer, is the assistant to Brady and I. Like the restaurant and the business, the race team is another place where family and competition come together.
